It's great to have Coach Paul Sigurthorsson back.  He adds a great knowledge of swimming to our team and is a lot of fun. Welcome Back Paul!

As you know, Coach Garrett graduated Saturday afternoon from Texas A&M University. We are all proud of your hard work and that you've reached your goals.  Great Job Garrett!

Date set for June 1 during practice. Forms will be online soon and passed out at practice next week.

We will be wearing the same suits as last year. D & J Sports will be at practice on Monday, April 27th and Monday May 4th selling suits, goggles and supplies. If you would like to purchase your suit prior to that date, you can go directly to their store.  See Contact & Links for information. 

HMR Swim Team is a volunteer driven organization. It takes all of us doing something to make it work. Although those of us who have served on the board enjoy our involvement, we need to start looking for new board members and others to help keep the team going in the future. Please consider getting more involved. You can talk to any board member about this.

Our biggest need this year is NWAL Officials. We only have 2 certified Stroke and Turn Officials and most teams have at least four.  Kim Wegner will be getting certified as a Starter/Referee this year, so we are losing her. To become certified, you must attend a short classroom orientation, attend an on-deck training and take the test online @ NWAL. After becoming certified, you only have to take an online test to maintain your certification. Having our own Stroke and Turn Officials allows us to ensure fairness at the meet. If we had four, you would only work 1/2 of the meet, just like timers, scribes and all other volunteer jobs. Please consider becoming certified. Contact Kim for more information.

We are also in need of help with our Concessions.  It is customary for teams to provide a concession stand at home meets. We need someone to coordinate this effort and solicit parents or students to man the stand during the meet.  Let Lori know if you can help here, otherwise, we might not be able to host a concession at our home meets.
